The Saratoga National wedding of Emily and Dan on February 24th is definitely one for the books! Mother Nature can be so indecisive in late February, and as it turned out she gave us the best of both worlds. The snow was all but gone until right before the wedding when we were lucky enough to have freshly fallen powder on the ground. On the day of the wedding, we even had temperatures into the 40s.
Our bride and groom had been together for many years, giving us a true celebration with family and friends. There isn’t a guest who attended this gorgeous winter wedding that didn’t make it into some of the photos with the bride and groom. I am honored to have been their photographer on this very special day and had such a great time taking pictures of the ceremony and reception. A special tribute – Emily wore a stunning locket with pictures of her grandparents who had passed. During the ceremony, they did something called a “wishing stone.” A stone was placed on each seat and guests made a wish holding the stone. They were then collected in baskets for the couple to keep. Her father was our hero for the day, running around fetching forgotten items and helping Emily maneuver around in her dress.
