About

As a photographer, I have taken part in over 700 weddings; however, as a mother, I’ve raised four boys. My experiences have taught me so much about patience—and flexibility! On the job, I’m naturally sensitive to the grooms’ needs, but having been deprived of daughters, I care very deeply for my brides and fully enjoy the feminine details of planning and executing these occasions. For me, it isn’t about just taking great photos. I help out in any way that I can, whether that involves sewing on a stray button or entertaining little ones with a puppet. And my full participation in each wedding serves to enhance my photography by allowing me to both experience and capture each detail so carefully planned throughout a special day.

It’s important to me to chronicle the finest points of an event because I understand how invested wedding parties are in creating a day to remember. But my strongest talent is capturing moments that cannot be planned, and I have a finely tuned sense for anticipating when just such a moment is about to occur. Behind the camera, something magical happens that is difficult to explain; somehow, my lens allows me to focus on other wedding participants in candid moments and lends me precious insight into the emotional landscape of each joyous occasion. Creating images of pure passion is truly a privilege.

I’ve been able to enjoy this privilege for 17 years, and in that time, the rare specialty of utilizing natural light has become my particular field of study under the mentorship of Lori Rose of California. For me, the ability to see minute distinctions within light is an extremely satisfying challenge, and light and love have naturally developed a marriage of their own in each image I create.
